Webinars
Webinars ("web seminars") are seminars that are broadcast via the internet. Some webinar services support live video (for example, UStream), or screen sharing (for example, Go To Webinar).
Some webinars require participants to dial in by telephone for the audio, while others broadcast it with the video stream over the internet.
Webinars have become more popular than teleseminars for several reasons:
- They don't tie up attendees phone lines.
- There are no long distance charges to attendees, nor is there a need to get a toll free number to avoid them.
- It's easier to listen for extended periods on a computer than on a telephone.
- Webinars enable the addition of visual elements to the presentation.
