Live Seminars

Live seminars are usually held at a hotel or similar venue.

Because of the logistics involved in their organization, the travel and lodging costs for all involved, and the time commitment required, many people prefer online alternatives.

However, live events offer a unique opportunity for networking and building relationships with other people in your industry and to rub shoulders with successful people that can't be replicated online.

If you plan to attend a seminar for these purposes, be sure to pick a seminar who's attendees are likely to be valuable business contacts. For example, free seminars or paid seminars for which lots of free tickets have been handed out may not be as good of networking opportunities as seminars that everyone has paid thousands of dollars to attend.

Be sure to have you "elevator pitch" ready, and be prepared to offer value to the people you meet. Also, it's probably worth staying at or as near as possible to the venue where the event is being held so that you won't always be rushing off during prime networking time.
