Videos

Videos are a great information product format because:

  • They're easy to produce using inexpensive consumer video cameras and edit using free software.
  • You can also create them on a computer using screen capture software.
  • They can be delivered by download.
  • Because they can be downloaded, they deliver instant gratification to the customer.
  • They're great for visually demonstrating what you're talking about, which often makes it much easier to communicate concepts than audio and text products.
  • Many people prefer video products to text or audio products, so they'll pay more for them.
  • They can be used to easily create audio and text products by exporting and transcribing the audio.

A few easy ways to create source content for video products include:

  • Compile a bunch of your own blog posts and edit them so that they flow together well.
  • Find PLR articles or eBooks and update and improve them to make them unique.
  • Create an outline of the topic you want to cover and prepare a few thoughts to discuss about each part.
  • Set up and interview with an expert on some topic.

When creating screen capture videos, you can either simply run through a slide show and talk about each slide, or record yourself using a piece of software or accessing the web while you explain what you're doing.
