Audio Recordings

Audio recordings are a great information product format because:

  • They're easy to produce using free tools (for example, you can record and edit it in Audacity, and then use the LAME library (which works with Audacity) to export it as an MP3.
  • They're easy to deliver by download.
  • Because they can be downloaded, they deliver instant gratification to the customer.
  • Many people prefer audio products to text products since they're easier to consume, so they'll pay more for them.

A few easy ways to create audio products include:

  • Compile a bunch of your own blog posts and edit them so that they flow together well. Then record yourself or someone else reading them.
  • Find PLR articles or eBooks and update and improve them to make them unique. Then record someone reading them.
  • Write an outline of the topic you want to cover and then record yourself explaining each thing on the outline.
  • Record yourself interviewing an expert on some topic.

When possible, you may want to record audio products as video first. Then you can easily export the audio product and you'll have two products. Finally, you can transcribe the audio into a text product.
