Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money from other people's products.
As an affiliate, you link to others' products using special links that contain your affiliate ID. The seller tracks which affiliate referred the visitor, and if they buy, that affiliate earns a commission on the sale.
Even if you have your own products, you should consider being an affiliate too because:
- you don't have to manage storage (in the case of physical products) and delivery.
- you don't have to provide customer support.
- it gives you more options for backend sales to existing customers without having to develop so many products yourself.
- you can discover which products would be most lucrative for you to develop by promoting others' products -- if something you're promoting sells well, you might want to create a competing product.
A few affiliate programs to consider joining:
- Gecko Tribe (that's my company :-) I sell website scripts and online services for webmasters.
- Amazon.com - they sell just about everything and have great prices, which increases the odds the people you refer will buy.
- ClickBank - they're a middleman for all sorts of downloadable and membership type products. Lots of internet marketing and business opportunity type products get sold through ClickBank.
