Pay Per Click Advertising (PPC)
Pay per click advertising is advertising where you pay only when someone clicks on your ad and goes to your website.
The best-known pay per click system is Google's AdWords. It is preferred by many over Yahoo!'s and Microsoft's pay per click systems because:
- Google gets more traffic, so there's more advertising space available.
- (At least compared to Yahoo!) ads are usually approved immediately so they start running faster.
Many people are afraid of pay per click advertising, fearing that they'll get too many clicks and spend too much money before they're able to test and tweak their sales materials, and end up losing lots of money. This problem is easily solved by setting a low maximum daily budget. You can set a budget for each advertising campaign individually, keeping each as low as even a few dollars a day until you're confident it's converting well.
More to come here about writing ads that attract targeted clicks, and minimizing your cost per click...
