Web Services

Web services are any service that is provided by an internet server for the customer's website. Web hosting itself may be considered a web service.

Web services are a powerful type of continuity product, because unlike other continuity products, the service gets integrated into the customer's business. The more disruptive to their business it would be to cancel, the more likely they are to continue paying for service.

For this reason, and because non-technical users often prefer a hosted solution over one that they have to install on their own computer, when creating software products, you should consider creating it as a web service instead of or in addition to selling product that the customer can install on their own computer.
